  1. Zhangkoudong Palaeoanthropic Relics Museum in Jiuxiang,Kunming

Zhangkoudong Palaeoanthropic Relics Museum is located in the Male Lion Hall (xiónɡ shī dà tīnɡ) of Jiuxiang Underground Cave. Opened in 1999 and covering 120 square meters, the museum has been set to display palaeoanthropic relics, blind fish, pastoral photos and rare stones discovered and collected in Jiuxiang Area. The palaeoanthropic relics mainly include those excavated in Zhangkoudong Cave such as stone wares, teeth of human and animals etc, among which the most precious is a stone tool archeologically named“Duo Keng Shi Qi” (stone tool with dents)

(1)-"Duo Keng Shi Qi” (Stone Tool With Dents)

The stone tool is 16.5 cm wide, 34 cm long and 6cm thick. On its both surfaces, there are respectively 55 distinguishable dents that measure 1.5-2 cm in diameter and 0.3-0.5 mm in depth. Thanks to its rarity in China, it has been deemed “a wonder in Jiuxiang Scenic Attraction”.

(2)-The Palaeoanthropic Site in Zhangkou Cave Located in Jiuxiang Scenic Attraction, Zhangkoudong Cave is the former site of palaeoanthropic dwelling in Jiuxiang Area. Facing south and with an altitude of 1,800 meters above the seal level, the cave is approximately 7 meters wide and 4 meters high, covering 500 square meters. At present, experts have unearthed 1,923 pieces of mammal fossils, 40 human teeth, 1,826 stone wares, 3 bone wares and 2 polished stone axes etc.

Following Longtan Mountain of Chenggong County (or Chengggong District), Zhangkou Cave appears to be the second palaeolithic site discovered in Kunming Area. It has yet been the best-conserved cave dwelling of the Primitive Society ever discovered in Yunnan Province and can date back to 10,000 years ago.
