You can take sleeping buses in the Kunming Passenger Transportation Station to Guangnan County. The 462-kilometer travel will cost you 104 yuan per person. Then you take minibuses at the Guangnan Passenger Transportation Station to the Bamei Village which is 43 kilometers away from the county seat of Guangnan. The price is 11 yuan per person, and the travel will take you only 2 hours.

1) The regular sleeping bus departs at 19:00 and 19:30. The ticket fare is around CNY 149. The whole journey from Kunming to Guangnan takes about 7 to 9 hours.

Recommended Accommodation: For those who want to enjoy local life, living with a local family is a good choice and the farm stay including :Under the Banyan(大榕树下),Fuliang farm yard(、福亮农家),Green Island (、绿满岛)and so on .But the condition might be quite rough because of the absence of electricity. You can also leave Bamei and stay Guangnan, the best hotel is Teanna club(特安呐会所)in the county. Also stay in a local villager’s home for the night, or bring a tent and some food. More Tips:

2)Activities with folk customs: Holding a memorial ceremony for dragons, surrounding fish, Water-splashing Festival, singing songs, Lion dances, kicking leaf balls and drilling with ancient weapons.

3)Arrangement for the time: The main aim to the Bamei Village is to experience the special folk customs and the living conditions here. So you need to stay here for some time. The suggested time is 2 to 3 days.

4)please bear these in mind:

A. the Bamei Village is a newly developed scenic spot. There are no highways. All the roads are rugged dust roads. So the travel by bus will be very hard. The ones who may easily get carsick will have to suffer a lot more. Especially from the entrance of the cave of the Tangna Village to the Bamei Village there is a road which is as long as 2.5 kilometers. You can only walk. So a pair of flatties are necessary so that you may suffer less and walk quicker.

B. if you want to go to the Bamei Village, you have to go through a very dark water cave first. So before you set out, bring a flashlight or an emergency light with you. It is advisable that girls don’t go alone for safety.

C. surrounded by high mountains, the Bamei Village has not been electrified yet. Almost all the food, clothes and daily necessities the villagers use are self-sufficient. The only buffet in the village is run by a Zhuang woman and you can only find some daily necessities there.

How to fit in

It’s easier to get around in Bamei if you know some basic Mandarin, especially when ordering food, but there are a number of important points of business etiquette to remember too. Confucianism, with its attention to demeanour , harmony, and preservation of “face,” plays a central role .Meetings always begin with a handshake. Give a slight nod and don’t be too vigorous when shaking hands, it could come across as being aggressive. Stay away from physical contact after this, including pats on the arm. If a host is guiding you they may tug your sleeve. Have business cards translated on one side. It is considered fortuitous if they are printed in gold ink. Be sure to place received cards in a case rather than your pocket. Avoid humour since jokes may not come across as you intend. Gift etiquette and negotiations can be complex, so it’s best to read more deeply about them.

How to pay

All transactions are made in Chinese Yuan Renminbi (CNY). The currency is used throughout the country and available at any ATM. C$1 is worth about ¥5.6 CNY. Frequently used bank notes are: ¥1, ¥5, ¥10, ¥20, ¥50, ¥100.
