Mannuandian is a Dai ethnic village in Manman Community of Gasa Town, Jinghong city. The villagers are skilled at making Dai brocades which the seniors say has a long history of at least four or five hundred years. A loom is a necessity for each household as most Dai ladies have mastered the traditional craft.
Patterns on the Dai brocades vary a lot. What is most popular is animals, plants, architectures and human figures. As the tourism industry develops, the Dai brocades have become worth-buying souvenirs for travellers from home and abroad.
