Yunnan has 4 China's best tourist destinations to spend winters

Four scenic spots in Yunnan, Xishuangbanna, Lingcang, Kunming and Dehong are on the list of the Best Tourist Destinations to spend winters in China.

The qualifications of the tourist destinations for spending winters are as follows: the climate should be warm and comfortable, the sceneries diverse, the ecology fine, the tourism service facilities excellent, tourism activities rich, and reputation good.

The result was concluded after experts’ survey and research based on the weather data and tourists’ evaluation last December, January and February.

Among the top ten destinations outstand four from the province, namely, Xishuangbanna in the first place, Lingcang in the third place, Kunming in the fourth place and Dehong in the sixth place.

The average sunshine time in Kunming exceeds 2,250 hours annually. "The advantages of warm climate in Yunnan are most likely to show during the coldest and hottest seasons of a year." said Duan Yueqing, director of Yunnan Provincial Tourism Development Committee. Yunnan attracts travelers all the year round, since it is suitable for sightseeing throughout the year.

Kunming received 5.864 million travelers last October, showing a 12.83 percent increase compared with the same period last year. The tourism earns over 5 billion yuan, 9.62 percent growth year on year.

A traveler from Beijing said: "I was attracted by the warm sunshine and the fresh air in Kunming. It is a special city. Apart from the sunshine, air, flowers and green lands, it has unique culture and history. The city gives me so many reasons to stay here."
