By air:

There is no airport in Emeishan.

By train: 

Getting to Emeishan by train is more comfortable than by bus. There are numerous trains departing from Chengdu every day and the trip should take about three hours. The railway station is about 3.5km away from Emei city where you can take a minibus or taxi to the city or the Baoguo Temple .

By bus: 

The express way from Chengdu to Mt.emei has been put into operation in Dec. 1999, with the total length of 169KM . Buses leave from Chengdu to Emeishan every 30 minutes and the trip takes three and half an hour. You can also take a bus from Emeishan to Leshan. This is about an one hour trip (30km). 

Mt.emei transportation

Chengdu-Mt.Emei: 

The expressway from Chengdu to Mt.emei has been put into operation in dec.1999, with the total length 169km and about two hours driving. Travelers can catch bus easily at Xinnanmen bus station (Chengdu tour bus center)from 7:10 to 18:10 everyday. Buses leave every 20 minutes. Usually, buses will drive on the expressway and get out of it at the exit to Jiajiang county, then go through Jiajiang county and you will arrive at Mt.Emei soon. 

 When travelers arrive at Mt.emei, there are three routes to enjoy the mountain. 

A: The first choice is taking a hiking route, which takes three days from the foot of Mt.Emei to its top-Golden Summit. 

B: Taking the local sightseeing bus to Wannian monastery parking lot and then go to visit the Wannian monastery located at the waist of Mt.emei, then walk down to Qingyin pavilion and the monkey mountain, then come back from the monkey mountain to Wuxiangang where you can catch the sightseeing bus back to the mountain foot. This is a very nice hiking way. 

C: Taking the local sightseeing bus directly to Leidongping parking lot where you need to walk about 20 minutes to Jiexin hall to cake the cable car for the top of Mt.Emei-Golden Summit. After sightseeing there, you can either walk down to  Leidongping parking lot or take the cable car down there.

Please note that the cable cars at Wannian monastery and Golden Summit close at 6 Pm in the peak travel season from Mar.-Oct. and 5 Pm in the low season from Nov.-Feb.

The local sightseeing bus to the golden summit and Wannian monastery will stop at 4:30 usually.

Guide of Mt.Emei Tour Routes

Line A: Catch a sightseeing bus to Wannian bus station at Baoguosi bus center just located at the foot of Mt.Emei, hiking to Wannian Monastery, walking to Qinyin pavilion, and then to the monkey area. What`s fun for this route? For this route, you reach to the middle of Mt.emei. You can enjoy part of its charming and peaceful scenery, and the best monastery Wannian Monastery(where the copper statue of Puxian on white elephant is), and one of the ancient plants called the dinosaurs` food-- the tree ferns. That`s the essence of Mt.emei.

Line B: Take the sightseeing bus at Baoguosi bus center to Leidongping bus station where you can take the cable car to the golden summit, if you are lucky enough you can see the four great spectacles of Mt. Emei and minya konka miles away, and then back to the foot of mountain to visit baoguo monastery.

Line C: For those people who are rich in passion, there is the third choice for you, hiking. It may cost you three days. Imagine, how nice it is putting you in a picturesque place for three whole days.
