Clients fly to Beijing or Shanghai, connecting flight to Lijiang.
Upon your arrival at Lijiang, be greeted by our Lijiang local guide and transfer about 1 hour to hotel in the ancient city of Lijiang, which is a world cultural heritage, one of the three ancient Chinese cities. The city is rich in culture of Naxi nationality.
Tonight, we stay in a local courtyard hotel-Wangfu Hotel in the ancient city of Lijiang.
Enjoy dinner in a local restaurant and have good rest in hotel, particularly after long flights.
Altitude of Lijiang is about 2,416 meters.

After breakfast in the hotel, we check out and board on bus, driving about 3-4 hours/100 kms from Lijiang to Guole Village. 
From the city of Lijiang, we will drive up to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain on the well paved road. 3-4 hours later, we get to Guole Village.
Guole is a village located on the way to Jinshajiang (the Upper Stream of Yangtze) River.
In Guole village, we are going to grab lunch in a local restaurants before our trek.
Our trekking will start from Guole Village. For the first one hour, we are going uphill. Then from the mountain pass, we will mostly trek downhill. The trail is some type of narrow and steep, in raining days, it would be very muddy and sleeper.
About 3 hours hike, we could see the Rock City from the road. The city itself looks like a huge mushroom uprising from the ground. On the huge rock, hundreds of houses were built, facing the grand valley of Yangtze River.

Overnight Hostel in Baoshan Stone Town Home Stay (B, L, D)

This morning, after breakfast, we hit the road to Taiziguan (the Crowned Prince Pass).
Taiziguan is about 10kms away north to Baoshan Stone Town, with altitude of 3,500 meters, over 2,000 meters above the river. The view on the way up is fabulous.
Gradually, we are going to trek through a channel through the mountain. The first channel is about 60 meters long. After the first channel, one more hour hike and get up to the second channel, which is 90 meters long and it is the higher place on our trail at Taigiguan. 
When we get through the 90 meters channel, the scenery changed suddenly. We can see the snow capped mountains in distance, and in the valley, it is much drier than the other side. 
We take the trail downhill about 1.5-2 hour until we get to Upper Liuqing Village (Guomei) though the primitive pine forest.
Today is the most challenging day, lots of uphill on the steep trail.

This morning, after breakfast arranged by our cook and the local family, we will head to Fenglian (or Fengke).
The trail is all downhill, with primitive pine forest, where we can see the workers hang the plastic bags to collect Turpentine.
Further down, local people herding his goats on the mountain slopes, spreading away when they run across any people.
We will take a break in No. 3 Liuqing Village, where we are going to visit a local primary school. It is very rare for the students to meet western tourists and they would be happy to see us. The visit will be a great memory for both of us and the students (as well as the teachers).
After school visit and lunch in Liuqing Village No.3, we continue our trek downhill.
The first section is on wide road, but followed with narrow and horizontal trail which is not flat but steep. It takes lots of concentration walking on that trail since it is right against the mountain and the other side is steep mountain slope down into the valley.
After the challenging part, which is about one hour trek, we will get back to wider trail and walk another 1-2 hours down to Fenglian Village, where we are going to stay in the home stays.
Fenglian is the main village in that area, nicely located by Jinshan River, can enjoy great view of the entire valley.

Trek from Fenglian to Labo Zhuangzi, partially with local vehicle transfer.
After breakfast in Fenglian, it is about 1.5-2 hours walking down to the local ferry on Jinsha River. We will use local ferry boat cross the river. The ferry keeps the ancient site when Kublai Khan lead his army across the river with leather bags over 800 years ago. After cross Jinsha River, he occupied Dali Kingdom which capitalized Dali city now and surrounded the Song Dynasty’s territory and finally occupied the all land of China.
On the other side of Jinsha River, it is Ninglang County. Pumi and Mosuo People live on this area for over thousands of years.
On the way up the mountain, the scenery of Jinsha Valley is getting more and more beautiful with ascending of altitude-the river runs through the wide valley, the layers of mountain goes far to the downstream. We even still can see the Taiziguan in distance.
We will hike about 4 hours from Lakaixi village up to Gewa Village on the mountain where a vehicle waiting for us and transfer us about 30 minutes to Labo Zhuangzi village, a beautiful village sitting next to forest. In Labo Zhuangzi, most people there are Pumi people. 
When the 1,000 years huge walnut tree shows up, we get to the home stay.

Overnight Labo Zhuangzi Home Stay (B, L, D)

Right out of Labo Zhuangzi, we will trek uphill 2.5-3 hours through the dense primitive forest to Yongning Pass, which is about 3,500 meters high, with colorful paying flags. So, this morning, we are going to ascend about 800 meters in 3 hours.
There is hanging a colorful praying flags on Yongning Mountain pass.
About 1 hour downhill trek on the trail (which would be very muddy and sleeper in raining days), we could see Youngning River runs straightly to the Lion Mountain. Lugu Lake nestles quietly in further distance. We are going to have our picnic lunch at noon.
From the picnic lunch site, we will continue trek downhill.
The Yi people wear very beautiful clothing, if possible, we will take a stop by some family to take photos of the ladies with their traditional wearing.
Then, we hike up to the road where our driver will pick up us and drive to Zhamei Monastery in the town of Yongning. Zhamei Lamasery was originally built in the year of 1,556,occupying a area of 24,000 square meters. It is a Gelukpa Lamasery.
Then we drive about 30 minutes to the hotel by Lugu Lake.
After the 5 days trekking, finally, we can take a nice hot water shower in the beautiful 5-star hotel, facing Lugu Lake.

Overnight Yinhudao Hotel (B, L, D)

Lugu Lake is the residence of Mosuo people. They still keep the ancient Matriarchal society.
If weather permits, get up early to admire the sunrise over the lake. The Lion Mountain sitting elegantly facing the lake. 
This morning, we finally can have breakfast in a fancy restaurant table.
Enjoy free time to explore around the area by the hotel by Lugu Lake before we board bus and drive to Ninglang County. It takes about 3 hours drive from Lugu Lake to Ninglang County, when the new road is done next year, it is just about 1.5 hours drive.
From Ninglang Country, the road winds its way along the big mountain, slowly down to the Jinsha River valley. It is amazing to see the river runs through the big mountain as high as over 5,000 meters.
After across the bridge on the river, we drive about one hour ascending up to the other side of the mountain till we get to the pass where we can see the big flat area of Lijiang.
After hotel check in Lijiang and get refreshed, we come out for a farewell dinner in an authentic local restaurant.
