Enjoy the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway experience tour. The tourist train has restarted from the east of Jianshui(Linan Ancient Town) to Tuanshan Village since May 1st,2015.The entire journey is about 12.82km.It takes about 40mins.As so far,it passes 5 stations including Linan Station, Xiaoguihu Station,Xianghuiqiao Station and Tuanshan Station. There is not only rural scenery along the way,but also some famous scenic spots in Xiaoguihu,Shuanglongqiao and Tuanshan.
Tuanshan Village, built in Qing Dynasty, regarded as the Gem of Chinese Civil Houses. Visiting thr village is like travelling to another China. Small, cobbled lanes and old women with bound feet blend leave you with impressions of timelessness, art and architecture. It has been enlisted by the World Monuments Fund (WMF) as one of the 100 Most Endangered Places for the year of 2006.
Tuanshan, 13 kilometers in the west of Jianshui town, is often referred to as Family Zhang’s Garden because Zhang Family from Jiangxi Province immigrated here for business since the Ming Dynasty and had prospered into a well-to-do family in the later years. Nevertheless, Tuanshan was originally a Yi minority village. Due to the Zhang Family’s ancestral immigration from Jiangxi Province in Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, this village was named Tuanshan in Chinese from “Tushou”, a word of the Yi ethnic language that means “a beautiful place with gold and silver”. 80% of the families, who live in good harmony with the local Yis, bear the surname of “Zhang”.
Double Dragon Bridge is located 5 kilometers (3.107 miles) west of Jianshui, at the confluence of Lushui River and Tacun River, which are like double winding dragons crossing the land. It is the biggest and has the most artistic value of the ancient bridges in Yunnan Province.
Jianshui Confucius Temple was a very special attraction. It was built in the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) and was the biggest Confucius Temple at that time. Now it is just behind the Confucius Temple in Qufu, Shandong Province, in scale. The temple has a traditional Chinese construction style, facing south. It is 625 meters (0.39 miles) deep, covering an area of 114 mu (18.78 acres), including 31 buildings.

Transfer to Hekou after breakfast. En route, drive along countryside road and go deep into the mountain and have a close look at 2 bridges which are very famous along French Railway. Then keep on transfer to a border town Hekou. Here the Red River separates Chinese and Vietnam apart. This is a small town with a lot of Vietnamese residents selling beautiful handcrafts in a street called Vietnam Street. Cross the 300-metre long bridge, you will enter Vietnam and start your trip in Vietnam.
About 13km up the road we arrived in a small settlement called Wantang (弯塘乡). This is the last place to stock up on any provisions you might need for the night. From here the river enters a narrow canyon and at times the railroad disappears completely from view, clinging to the precipice high above.
The Nanxi River in this stretch is full of boulders and waterfalls. Deep, natural swimming holes provide an ideal respite from the heat.
11km from Wantang the railroad temporarily left the Nanxi River valley and made a U-shaped detour up the Chahe River (岔河) valley, gaining elevation before climbing out of the Nanxi River watershed and onto the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. The cobblestone road also jogs to the right, running right up the middle of the "U", resulting in the interesting phenomenon of railroad tracks running along both sides of the valley.
From here it's only another 8km to the final destination. The Renziqiao bridge is located at the bottom of the curve in the "U". The bridge itself is a worthy destination. With its distinctive arch, it is an achievement of design. But it's the bridge's surroundings that make it so impressive. It bridges a narrow gap between two vertical limestone cliffs, and is approached on either side by tunnels, resulting in a unique profile, which has become something of a symbol of the railroad.
Having first seen the bridge in photographs years ago at the Yunnan Railway Museum in Kunming, finally reaching it in person was breathtaking.
Views of the bridge can be had from anywhere in Renziqiao village. Or you can walk along the river underneath and get a view from closer up.
Back in Renziqiao Village, which is also nestled in the curve of the "U", we had planned on pitching tents and camping for the night, as there are no guesthouses in the village or tourism infrastructure of any kind in the village. We ended up spending the night in a local home at the invitation of a kind farmer, but recommend others planning to spend the night bringing camping gear nonetheless.
It was night when the freight train finally chugged up the valley. We scrambled out of bed to watch it make its curve around the "U" and cross the bridge. Its headlight beam was playing all sorts of tricks, spasmodically illuminating this corner of the valley, and then that, as the train made its way along the zigzag bends in the track.
Transfer to Hekou in the late afternoon.
