A press conference on Nov 4 say that China's 1st Yellow Jade Cultural Week is to be staged in Longling County (Baoshan) from Dec 28, 2010 to Jan 3, 2011.
The Cutural Event will be jointly sponsored by China Jewelry Association, Baoshan Municipality and Yunnan Tourism Administration.
As a kind of natural rare jade, Yellow Jade (Huang Long Yu) exhibits high values either for appreciation, housing or commercial purposes. Longling governmental organs have persisted in policies to both Exploit and Preserve the Yellow Jade resources since 2004 when mines of its kind were massively discovered in Longling. According to statistics, there are approximately 1,800 Yellow Jade businesses nationwide, of which over 800 in Longling with 6,000 employees.
