Yangshuo Airport and Airport to Yangshuo

Yangshuo is a small county of Guilin, there is no airport in Yangshuo. So if you want to fly to Yangshuo, you should fly to Guilin first. And then you can go to Yangshuo from Guilin by various methods. 

You should study the airport location and distances between Guilin and Yangshuo before you decide to choose how to get to Yangshuo from the airport. Yangshuo is about 96 klilometers away from Guilin Liangjiang International Airport, and about 66 kilometers away from Guilin city. By the way, there is no airport transfer shuttle service between Yangshuo and the airport.

Take a Taxi to Yangshuo Directly From Guilin Airport 

Guilin Liangjiang International airport is one of the busiest modern airport in China. You can easily find a taxi when you arrive the airport. But it is not a good method for tourists to take a taxi to Yangshuo. 

The reasons are follows:

(1) It is expensive to take a taxi to Yangshuo. Tourists usually have to pay round trip taxi expenses from the airport to Yangshuo and Yangshuo to Guilin. Because the taxi driver MUST GO HOME, return to his or her home in Guilin after Yangshuo arriaval.

(2) Tourists usually have to pay another round trip airport transport price to a Yangshuo taxi driver when they leave Yangshuo for the airport. The same reason mentioned above that the driver must go home. 

(3) If tourists go to Yangshuo by taxi, they will miss the chance to take Li River cruise program. Because the Li River Cruise is only a one way trip down stream to Yangshuo from Guilin.

The Cheapest way to go to Yangshuo from Guilin Airport

Take airport bus to Guilin and then take a Long distance bus to Yangshuo is the most economical way to go to Yangshuo from Guilin Airport. The price for airport bus or the airport shuttle is 20 rmb/per person. 

The airport shuttle ends at CAAC booking office downtown Guilin. You should take a taxi to the Long distance bus station. The taxi costs only about 10 rmb or so.

There are many buses go to Yangshuo, but we recommend direct bus only. The direct bus ticket is about 15 rmb/per person. You can take an air conditioned non-stop bus to Yangshuo, approximately every 30 minutes with a journey about 90 minutes.

We don't recommend travelers to find a bus near railway station. Those buses are usually dirty and unsafe. Passengers get on and off the bus along the way to Yangshuo, so do the thieves. If you are on a business trip to Yangshuo, you can go this way. But if you are a tourist, you'd better go to Yangshuo by boat.

Li River Cruise, Boat Trip to Yangshuo

Li river cruise is the highlight of Guilin tour. The boat trip on Li River is always a pleased thing. You can breathe the fresh air, feel gentle breeze and appreciate the fabulous landscape on both sides of Li River. It is one of China's most famous scenic areas. The Li River Cruise is a must and the essential part of Guilin tour.

Transportation in Yangshuo, Getting Around

The county is so small that there is no public bus in Yangshuo. It just takes about half an hour to travel around the whole county on foot. It also has regular buses and tourist buses to tourist spots in the towns around the county. Yangshuo has a lot battery-storage vehicles, motor tricycles and taxis. However, a very popular and interesting way to explore Yangshuo is by bike. It is very easy to rent a bike from hotels or stalls along most streets in the county.

Though the service price of electric powered vehicles, motor cycles and the rent of bike are cheap, we must stress that tourist should pay special attention to the safety of the traffic in Yangshuo. The major scenic areas of Yangshuo are along the both sides of national high way 321, which is busy and narrow. From Yangshuo Bus Station, scheduled buses to Xingping, Fuli, Moon Hill and other places.

Long-distance Bus

At present, the long distance buses from most cities in Guangdong Province to Guilin always stop at Yangshuo bus station. Therefore, if you use these buses, you can go to Yangshuo directly.

There are also daily nonstop sleeper coaches from many cities around the country to Yangshuo, such as Nanning, Beihai, Yulin, Qingzhou and Wuzhou in Guangxi Province as well as Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Dongguan in Guangdong Province.
