This March sees the festival menu of Yunnan refreshed for the "Qianhuahui (Flowers) Cultural Tourism Festival" that was called off due to the severe drought last year. The festival is being held in Junzishan Mountain (Mushroom Mountain) in Shizong County of Qujing Municipality. It will last till May.
Junzishan Mountain is famous for its flowers. There are 1,500 kinds of plants of which over 30 are endangered. All sorts of wild flowers come in full bloom in spring and summer. What is the most spectacular is that the mountain blazes with azalea (rhododendron) in a riot of colors: red, white, yellow and purplish.
