The Guiyang Nanming District Dance Team won four honors, Gold Award, Best Award for Stage Performance, Best Award for Popularity and Best Award for Choreographer, during the fifth East Asian Cultural and Arts Festival.

The Nanming dance team is a dancing group for the elderly. The East Asian Cultural and Arts Festival is an annual festival for elderly people in East Asia.
The festival, organized by Korea Incheon University for the Elderly, the China Choir Arts Association, the China Folk Dance Association, the International Model Art Association and Beijing Development Fund for the Elderly, aims to create a colorful life for senior citizens and provide a platform for communication and exchange.
The festival, themed "Asian Spirit and China Dream," has three competition items: choir, dancing and catwalk show. It attracted performers from China, Japan and South Korea.
The Guiyang Nanming Dance Team presented two dance performances showing local characteristics. It was highly praised by audiences.
The good performance of the Guiyang Nanming Dance Team has shown the cultural power of Nanming district of Guiyang, capital city of Guizhou province.
In recent years, Guiyang Nanming district has made efforts in cultural development, including organizing cultural activities such as a tea culture event, Nanming Calligraphy Exhibition and orchid expo, to improve local sense of culture and art and strengthen Nanming district's soft power.（From Chinadaily）
