Epilobium angustifolium, locally called "Huocao Grass", is usually collected for weaving by the Pumi ethnic members of Luoshui Village, Ninglang County.
In order to make Huocao cloth, at first, the sun-dried leaves of Huocao grass have to be pounded with a wooden club to get the fibre; and then these soft fibres will be made yarns to be further woven on looms.
This kind of cloth turns out to be pretty soft, strong and cold-proof when made into clothes.
