Brocade is a treasure of the folk art of the Miao nationality of Guizhou, with a long standing reputation. It is knitted by colored silk thread shuttling back and forth, forming patterns by horizontal and vertical thread and usually making into silk strips used as ornaments. The silk trips have various geometric patterns, dragons, phoenixes, worms, fish, or lucky words and expressions, etc. with strong and flamboyant colors. Some brocade is knitted accurately and carefully only with two colours: black and white, nice and refined.
