Since the construction of Wuchi Road(五尺道), Yanjin had became an vital part of southern silk road. A long history of trading, made Yanjin a smelter of central plain culture, Jing and Chu culture(荆楚文化), Yelang culture(夜郎文化), Bashu culture(巴蜀文化) and the central Yunnan culture(滇中文化), formed the unique “three river culture” and bred the laborious and honest Yanjin people.
Wuchi Road(五尺道)
Wuchi road of Qin dynasty, located in the Dousha pass(豆沙关), Yanjin county, now is only 350 meters left. It is the most preserved ,the most integrated and the most amounted of the track of horseshoes. The road was designed by Libing(李冰) –the prime minister of Qin dynasty. For the width of the road is 5 chi, so named Wuchi Road. At that time, the road was an important way to link Yunnan to inland.
Hanging-coffin Burial of Bo People(僰人悬棺)
Hanging coffins are located in Shimeng pass(石门关), Dousha town, a natural cave on the cliff over the south bank of Guanhe river(关河). There are 9 hanging coffins in the cave, and all of them were well-designed and beautifully made. It is said that Bo people was the descendents of people in Xia dynasty, they were knighted in Zhou dynasty for their contribution to the country, and dominated Yibin, whose territory included Yanjin at that time. In Ming dynasty, Bo people suffered genocide, the hanging coffin was the only relic they left to us.
