Yuhu Village is the last village in the Lijiang Basin at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The houses were made of a unique stone called "monkey head" by Naxi people. There is a Yuhe Lake beside the village. Water in this lake comes from melted snow of the mountains. What captivate tourists most is the rural appearance and peaceful atmosphere among locals, as if they even aren’t affected by any visitors. You can see old wooden houses with Bird Wing Roofs – the typical of Naxi architecture style, are snaking along the endless stone alleys, dogs are sleeping on the stage, a few locals are planting at their backyards, and woman are weaving or sewing. If you keep on strolling, from house to house, towards the end of the village, you can sometimes find locals greeting to you with a smile, and quickly submerged in the vivid green fields.
