The Museum of Folk Utensils of Bajie Town (An’ning City, Kunming) was established in May 2007. It covers 1200 square meters and consists of two exhibition halls. The museum was converted from Guanshenggong Palace which was first built in 1864 to enshrined Gu Yu. During the period of the war against the Japanese, the Palace was utilized as Martyrs’ Shrine and was further converted to a school.
Since 2005, local cultural departments of An’ning City have collected a number of traditional household utensils in Bajie Town, and made special point to establish a museum to display the cultural heritages of Bajie.
The museum has so far housed 204 items of utensils mainly including traditional farming tools and household utensils.
