Beihai is located at the southern end of Guangxi and the northeastern bank of the Beibu Gulf. As early as 2000 years ago, Beihai was active in China's foreign economy and port trade. By Air: There are direct flights from Shanghai city on every Tuesday, Thursday and,Sunday. It is operated by Juneyao Airlines which is based in Shanghai city. The Flight takes off at 5:30 pm from Shanghai Pudong airport and arrives at 8:50pm.
By Bus: There are a couple overnight buses from Guilin and at least one from Liuzhou going via Nanning. From Nanning there are a dozen buses going to Beihai on a daily basis, with the best bet being the Landong Long-Distance Bus Station in eastern Nanning along the express way.
Water Transportation: There is a boat to Haikou and buses to other nearby cities such as Nanning, Zhanjiang, Liuzhou and Guangzhou.
Beihai Food: Restaurants and bars are plenty in Beihai. Besides Yue, Cuan, Xiang, Lu, Zhe cuisines etc. Muslim, and western-style food are also available. In Beihai, you can enjoy pure western-style food and also can taste traditional snacks.
Fresh seafood in Beihai is available in the fresh seafood stalls close to the beach. Customers can choose from varieties of fishes, shrimps, shellfishes and crabs bred in the ponds. A good way to enjoy seafood is to sip on wine while watching sea surface and bathing in the sea breeze.
