Bingzhongluo is geographically difficult to access and ecologically diverse. The ecology here is very fragile.Although rural, like all other mountainous regions, it does not have much agricultural land. The cash economy currently largely depends on tourism (which benefits a very small percentage of the locals), collecting mushrooms (especially matsutake) and herbs (especially Rhizoma Coptidis, Rhizoma Paridis Yunnanensis, Saussurea involucrata, etc) in the snow mountains. When you travel to Bingzhongluo, you can buy the local mushrooms, herbs, and other products include: truffles, chestnuts, etc, other specialties of Bignzhongluo include: bee farming, Dulong cow herding and hand-made textile.
Bee Farming
The locals consume wild honey collected from wild bees. It is delicious and very very nutritious. The villages are full of peach trees and many other wild flowers.
Dulong Cow Herding
Dulong Cow is a wild cow living in Nulong Valley and many of the connected hills extended to Bingzhongluo. The meat can be consumed as sashimi and extremely tender.
Hand-made Textile
The Dulong, Nu and Lisu all have their specialty weaving patterns and skills. The weaving culture is very much alive among the female villagers.
