Zhaoyang District (Chinese: 昭阳区) is a district in Zhaotong Prefecture in Yunnan Province, China.Zhaotong district located in the northeast of Yunnan province,south bank of Yangze river,located in the northwest Yunnan-Guizhou plateau ,in the junction of Yunnan ,GUizhou ,Sichuan.341KM away from Kunming ,550KM from Chongqing ,450KM from Guiyang .The district located in the northwest of Yunnan-Guizhou plateau , the topography of the East West high low,which has the complete plateau landforms.There are two mountains lie in the region,Wumeng mountain lies in the east , Mountain range in the west with high altitude and steep slopes.Dashanbao is 3364 meters ,which is the highest point in the region.Maopo in Dazhaizi village is 494 meters ,is the lowest point in Zhaoyang ditrict .The temperature in winter is low and cool in summer ,the wet and dry season is distinct .Annual frost-free period is 220 days, annual average temperature is 11.6, most thermidor temperature is of 19.8 in July , the average temperature of Janurary is of 2, extreme minimum temperature of 13.3, extreme maximum temperature 33.5.Ranging from subtropical to warm temperate climate types.
