The Golden Lake, also got the name of the Gejiu Lake, is a gift presented to the people of Gejiu by the God. And it is a plateau lake dropped from the skies. It was said that it rained continuously during August in 1954, there poured out vast of floods from the Luoshuidong Cave , which is at the edge of Laoyinshan Mountain, soon the low lying zone of the city was submerged quickly, thus came a beautiful natue-made lake. The perimeter of the lake is about 4,010 meters, mean depth is about 2 meters, and the annual average water demand is about 4 million steres. Willows planted around the lake make it more beautiful. Night scene lights were set up along the main street of the city and the road around the lake..The Golden Lake, just like a green jasper, crystal clear and tender the city.
