Xisha Moon Reflecting Spring is in Chongmai Village 10 kilometers west of Huaning County Town. The scene of Xisha Moon Reflecting occurs in the pond outside the village. There is a layer of white sand on the bottom of the pond and another layer of black sand on the white layer.
When the spring water flows out, it stirs up the white sand which then pushes away the black sand, which forms various patterns. If you wait beside the pond long enough, you will see the continuous changes of the patterns which resemble the changes of the moon. There are many small water mouths around the major one, which looks like shining stars. These make the scene of Xisha Reflecting Spring spectacular. The most unusual scene here, as described by the villagers, is that the water does not flow out continuously but with intervals. Some water mouths may change locations of water flow, which adds more mystery to the scene.
