This park once was the experimental field of Yunnan Tropical Crops Institute, which specializes in research on various tropical crops and made a big contribution to rubber planting in Xishuangbanna. With all kinds of nice tropical flowers and ornamental plants cultivated with their advantageous technology, it was opened to public as a park in 1999.

Xishuangbanna Tropical Floral Garden is located in the Tropical Crop Scientific Research Institute covering an area of 80 hectares. It is a four A's tourism scenic spot. The natural formed water system tourism line successively links Hundred-flower Park, Aerial Flower Garden, Monument to Premier Zhouenlai, Palm Zone, Rare Trees and Lawn Zone, Potted Landscape Zone, Leaves Sightseeing Zone and Tropical Fruit Trees Zone. It is an assembly for scientific research, popularization of science, tourism, and holidays, where various flowers and plants are well preserved as well as nearly 1000 species of economic plants. When you wander in the park, you will find it a beautiful world with rare flowers, extraordinary trees and colorful plants.
Xishuangbanna Tropical Floral Garden is in Yunnan Tropical Crops Research Institute covering an area of 80 hectares. In the garden are a monument to Premier Zhou Enlai and flora communities among the pools like some tropical flowers and fruits, palms and plots of lawns. There are more than 1000 species of tropical flowers and many varieties of rare flowers, and cash and rare plants. Strolling in the garden, you may discover any unique, mystery plants. Here you can not only view the fascinating tropical scenery, but see what a coffee tree looks like, hear tales about the golden mango and secrets of its fruit juice.
