Miyilu is located 6.5 kilometers north of Nanhua County seat, Chuxing Prefecture Miyilu is said to be the name of a brave and smart Yi lass in Nanhua where the Flower Arrangement Festival (Cha Hua Jie) is spent to honor her. The valley includes 6 Yi villages which have long history and profound culture. It is noted for its traditional residences of Yi minority-Earthen House, Girls Rooms (Boudoirs), traditional Yi costumes, ethnic customs of wedding and funeral ceremonies, Yi culinary arts, melodious Sanxian (a kind of three-stringed guitar) music, and untrammeled or ebullient left-foot dance. All in all, the rich Yi customs and traditions have been fully preserved in Miyilu.
Entering Miyilu, you will gather in the girl’s room to experience the custom of Yi Nationality. Here you can not only taste the pure and green black goat meat, black-bone chicken and Shanmao wild vegetable, but you can also appreciate the romance of Yi girl’s room, joining in the enthusiastic and unrestrained ethnic dance…it is a minority gathering area with beautiful landscape, strong ethnic style, deep accumulation of Yi culture and well reserved folk customs.
