The beautiful and splendid Huanwen Park is located on the Maoheta Mount, two kilometers to the south of the seat of the Shiping County. Its altitude is 1,500 meters and its total area is 650 mu. Along the central axle line between the north and south gates, the park consists of three scenic zones of the Huanwen Landscape, Mingbang Literature and Finest under Heaven. The overall structure of the park is neat, elegant and magnificent. The park is a reflection of the historic cultural achievements of the Shiping County.
The traditional-style northern gate of the park is 9.57 meters high and 16.8 meters wide and its building area is 101.2 square meters. The design of the gate, which looks simple and elegant, is same as that of the southern gate. The four Chinese characters on the gate were written by the chairman of the Yunnan calligraphers’ association Li Qunjie.
