Xiaobailong National Forest Park is situated in the southwest of Yiliang County, about 40 km from Kunming. It covers 625 hectares. The altitude of the Xiaobailong National Forest Park varies from 1,600 to 2,200 meters above the sea level. Situated on the plateau of the north subtropical zone, Xiaobailong Forest Park exhibits mild temperature difference all the year round. As the largest forest park in the suburbs of Kunming, Xiaobailong Forest Park is highlighted by its attractive sceneries. Fauna and flora species in the forest park include barking deer, hare and birds, Pinus yunnanensis (Burma pine), cypress, fir, cryptomeria, cedar, oak, camellia, bamboo groves, chestnut trees, rhododendron, moss, wax berry (red-bay berry), spider brake, Michelia yunnanensis and assorted mushrooms etc.
Xiaobailong National Forest Park has become the favorite place of citizens from Kunming and nearby to spend summer. You can find your pleasure by appreciating wild flowers, picking red-bay berries and mushrooms, and enjoy the nature when exploring among the dense forests.
