Science Popularization Tourism for 2011 has been initiated in Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XSBG) based in Mengla County of Xishuangbanna Prefecture in South Yunnan.
The year of 2010 was the “bio-diversity year” designated by UN. Many activities aimed to arouse public awareness to preserve bio-diversity were carried out around the world. As an affiliate to China Academy of Sciences (CAS), XSBG also held a variety of interactive activities last year to provide ways for its visitors to know more about bio-diversity.
In retrospect, at the end of 2010, XSBG staged a poster display themed as “Review of Bio-diversity in 2010”, exhibiting the events it launched in 2010 regarding science popularization. It’s learned that the year of 2011 will see XSBG sponsor more programmes of this kind for its visitors.
