On Sep 10th, the signing ceremony of Xishuangbanna Int’l Tourism Resort Project was held in Jinghong, the capital city of Xishuangbanna Prefecture. This project is jointly invested by China Oceanwide Group, Legend Group, Dalian Yifang Group and Elion Group etc. With a total investment of 15 billion Yuan, it has been so far the largest investment of its kind in West China.
The tourism resort is located in the northwest of Jinghong, and covers an area of 6 square km. The resort will incorporate a theme park, a rainforest golf course, a theatre, deluxe hotels, a mall, an upper first-class hospital, and a tourist new town etc. The project is to be started at the end of this year and scheduled to be active by 2013. As planned, 2.5 billion Yuan will be set aside for the family style theme park covering 0.63 square km; 1.8 billion Yuan for the theatre; 6 billion Yuan for 8 hotels with 2,400 hotel rooms. The golf course will take 0.9 square km and be planted with tropical flora species. The first stage of the hotels will include Westin Hotel (six star), Aimei Hotel, Hilton Hotel and Holiday Hotel etc.
