On Jun 26, Foreign exchange training for tourism officials and service supervisors was opened in Xishuangbanna, South of Yunnan. Yuan Guanghan(the Inspector of Yunnan Tourism Bureau), Chen Qizhong(the Deputy Prefecture Governor),Yuan Songqing(the Deputy Director Of Prefecture Tourism Bureau)and Zhang Jinglong(the Chief of Personal and Training Department Of Provincial Tourism Bureau) attended the opening ceremony. Participants mainly includes Laos 25 tourism officials, 50 officials or travel service operators from Yunnan's Baoshan, Dehong, Honghe, Pu'er Prefectures.
In his address,Chen Qizhong introduced the tourism development of Xishuangbanna(Or Banna), pointing out that in recent years, with its infrastructures being greatly bettered, Banna's tourism has gained a rapid growth rate, its 3-dimentional communication network is taking its shape, and visitors are expected to be 8 million this year. Further efforts are to be made, Chen also claimed, to further improve the infrastructures, cultivate professionals, and manage well marketing; he hopes the Laos counterparts will have a better understanding of Banna through the training.
The training program will go in two terms. From Jun 26 to Jul 1, it mainly focuses of textbook knowledge and introductions to the major scenic attractions and tourism firms of Banna; while from Jul 2 to 5, it's an inspection to Kunming and Yuxi, etc.
