The Keyi Village is located 21 kilometers to the north of the seat of the Mile County and 25 kilometers to the extension line of the Stone Forest Scenic Spot. The village was founded in the beginning of the Qing Dynasty when it was dense virgin forest and some stalagmites around the village. In 1648, a person of the Axi branch of the Yi nationality named Bi Wu moved from the Gui Mountain to this place with his family and built houses here. The family was the first one. Then, 24 clans under 14 family names including Long, Liu and Chen also moved to the village successively. Currently, the village has 700 people and is subordinate to the Xisan Town.
The dance performed by the villagers, after being polished and improved by artists, has spread all over China and many countries of the world in the past 50 years. At present, the dance is known as the Axi Moon Dance and the village is the Keyi Village.
