Gingko fruit, also called "Baiguo" in Chinese, is a specialty of Jiangdong Gingko Village of Tengchong County, West Yunnan Province.
In deep autumn, the highlight of a tour to the village is the fallen golden gingko leaves, while villagers can be seen busy roasting freshly harvested gingko fruits for sale or cooking. These nuts can be eaten as snacks, but locals traditionally use them as culinary condiments: stewed with chicken, a dish that is nutritious and delicious.
