Rice dessert is kind of local snack in Heqing County, Dali Prefecture. It is widely consumed in social events: birthday party, entrance for schools, and joining the army etc; and for other big happy occasions such as wedding, new building, and traditional festivals etc, it is a necessity.
This kind of snack is good in both appearance and taste. Basically cooked (steamed) from rice and sugar, it needs some edible colours to "decorate", such as red, green, and yellow etc. Sometimes, mints and sesames are added, making it taste more refreshing.
Heqing "Migao" rice desserts are mostly homemade and can match many others of its kind. It is available in many local markets of Dali Prefecture.
