Santan Gorge is situated in the upstream area of Halakhah River. The furthest upper reaches of Kalakhah underflow about 10 kilometers beneath the Shitan Forest, and then effluent over the ground at Santan Gorge. There is a basaltic lava plateau on the right side, and steep mountains on the left. Due to a heavy gradient, the clear water goes rushing through the riverbed, uncovering the basalts and gravels big and small.
From the upstream to the downstream, there are Woniutan, Hushitan, and Yuexintan in sequence. The gorge is 3 kilometers in length, where there is a waterfall in the lower reaches. Travelers are beguiled by the beauty of the Santan Gorge landscapes.
