Two mountain villas in Mudanjiang city, Heilongjiang province, were exposed as exclusive entertainment resorts as well as an agricultural products provider for the city's local taxation bureau, Xinhua News Agency reported.
Suifeng Park, a farm located northwest of the urban Mudanjiang, has two wooden villas with fine furniture. The park, established six to seven years ago, is a health resort for officials from the city's local taxation bureau, a staffer there said, adding that the vegetables, corn and livestock there are to be provided to the bureau.
Another resort is Liri Shanzhuang, by a lake, where the main building has a gorgeous hall and a two-story villa with modern amenities such as elevators and an overhead projector as well as an automated mahjong table.
The guard there said the resort has accommodated dozens of local tax staffers who came for meetings or on vacation.
Liu Bochun, head of the city's local taxation bureau, said Shuifeng Park was built for retired employees and no one has stayed there overnight.
As for Liri Shanzhuang, the bureau didn't give any explanations, saying only that a deputy director who was in charge was absent.
