Lijiang Old Town, a world-famous tourism destination in Yunnan, was evaluated as a world cultural heritage in 1997 for its profound history and full-bodied ethnic features.
Lijiang Old Town, boasting a history of over 800 years, was built from the end of Song Dynasty (960 - 1279) to the early of Yuan Dynasty (1271 - 1368). It was an important hub along the famous "South Silk Route" as well as the Ancient Tea-Horse Trading Road.
The town is close to Yulong Snow Mountain and Tiger leaping Gorge of Yangtze River, which perfectly integrate water with mountains. The town owns flexural streets and interspersing dwellings, showing a unique pattern.
The most seductive part of the town is its characteristic ethnic customs of Naxi people. Dongba Character, the character of Naxi people, is the only remaining hieroglyphic in the world at present.
Scenery of the Three Parallel Rivers was found by a UNESCO official in a satellite remote sensing map in 1980s. Three impetuous rivers roll across the area from 98 degrees to 100.30 degrees east longitude and from 25.30 degrees to 29 degrees north latitude. The three rivers are respectivelyJinsha River, Lancang River and Nu River.
Three Parallel Rivers spread over an area of 40,000 square kilometers. It stretches across Lijiang City, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture in western Yunnan Province, parallelly running a distance of 170 kilometers in Yunnan Province.
The closest straight-line distance between Nu River and Lancang River is 18.6 kilometers, and the closest straight-line distance between Lancang River and Jinsha River is 66.3 kilometers.
The three rivers all originate from Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, but they run in different directions until they converge in the area of Three Parallel Rivers.
Jinsha River runs east. It pools together Dadu River, Jialing River, etc., along the way, and consequently comes intoYangzi River.
Lancang River is the upstream of Mekong River. It flows from north to south and flows over China, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, pouring into Indian Ocean finally.
Nu River runs towards Myanmar, is the upstream of Salween River in Myanmar.

Chengjiang Fossil Site was officially included into one of the World Heritage List in the 36th World Heritage Convention that was held in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 2012. On that day, Chengjiang people all dressed splendid attire, singing and dancing on streets to celebrate the news.
The site was firstly unveiled on July 1 of 1984, when a Chinese researcher discovered a precious Naraoia fossil on Maotian Mountain (帽天山) of Chengjiang County.

Honghe Hani Terrace was officially evaluated as a World Heritage on June 22, 2013.
The Hani terrace, which has been ploughed for over 1,300 years, is a large granary continuously providing rice and aquatic products for local people. The terrace exerted important wetland functions in the locality. It helps to adjust climates, conserve water and earth, prevent landslide, and maintain diversities of animals and plants.
Honghe Hani Terrace, covering an area of 13,011.57 hectares, spans 4 counties in Honghe prefecture. The terrace, having created agricultural ecological wonders for thousand years, will be elaborately managed in a level of National Wetland Park.
