An expressway connecting Dali and Lijiang, top hottest tourists’ destinations in Yunnan, will be opened to traffic within this year. When the road is constructed, it will take 2 hours to cover a distance of 192 kilometers via the four-lane road, 2 hours shorter than driving through National Road 214.
The expressway totals 259 kilometers and connects G56 Hangzhou--Ruili Expressway. It passes through west Yunnan, linking 15 grand bridges and 10 tunnels. The longest bridge on the way is Wase Grand Bridge, 2,651 meters. The longest tunnel is Huajiaqing Tunnel, totaling 4,400 meters. Both of them lie in Wase Town, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture.
The road connects Chuxiong--Dali Expressway at Fengyi Overpass Bridge(凤仪立交) and links Xiaguan--Weishan Road at Shenzhang Village(深长村). Dali--Fengyi First-class Highway and Dali--Lijiang Expressway are also connected at Longshan Town. It also interconnects Erhai Lake Ring Road and National Road 214 at the following overpass bridges: Huaying, Haidong, Wase, Shuanglang, Dengchuan, Eryuan, Niujie, Diannan, Jianchuan, Baihanchang and Lashihai.
Shuanglong Tunnel, over 400 meters in length, is still under construction and will be completed in September.
