Zhiziluo(知子罗), a small city hidden in mountains, was the capital of Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan. After Liuku Town became the capital of the prefecture in 1974, Zhiziluo was set as the government site of Bijiang County(碧江县).
In 1986, Bijiang County was relocated, as experts pointed out that Zhiziluo was surrounded by a huge landslide mass. Hence, the development of Zhiziluo was stopped in 1980s.
28 years passing by, the expected landslide has not occurred yet, However, the once busy Zhiziluo never sees its prosperity again. Its streets still remain the same when it was first constructed, and various outdated slogans that were commonly seen in last century can be found on walls in many places.
With empty streets and withered fallen leaves, Zhiziluo seems like a man in his old age, staring at the sunset of Gaoligong Mountain quietly over time.
