A romantic journey to Honghe

As a place with mellow fruitfulness all around the year, Honghe Hani &Yi Autonomous Prefecture ranks first for the production of fruits and vegetables. The prefecture is also world-renowned for its snacks, such as the Rice Noodles of Mengzi City(蒙自市), tofu of Shiping County(石屏县), etc.

The Hani nationality’s terraced fields have been successfully listed as the world intangible cultural heritage. Honghe Hani &Yi Autonomous Prefecture has become the third major tourism city in Yunnan Province.

Mellow fruitfulness all around the year

Crossed by the Tropic of Cancer, Honghe Hani &Yi Autonomous Prefecture has an agreeable climate, and is provided with fresh fruits throughout the year.

From December to May, people can pick fresh loquats in Mengzi City. Red bayberries mature in May in Shipin County. While during June and July, nectarines in Kaiyuan City, candied dates in Mengzi City, and grapes in Mile County are all matured. Pomegranates are provided from August to October. Winter apples and winter pitches can be picked before and after the Spring Festival. There are too many kinds od fruits in Honghe Hani &Yi Autonomous Prefecture. Some festivals concerning with fruits are even celebrated, for example, the Pomegranate Festival in Mengzi City.

The planting area of fruits and vegetables has reached over 2 million Mu in Honghe Hani &Yi Autonomous Prefecture. The prefecture is an important place for supplying winter vegetables nationally.
