According to the Yunnan Chinese Cultural Study Association, 42 manmade stone prehistoric cultural artifacts were found in Fuxian Lake in Yunnan province after 20 days of scientific investigation. The discovery proves that there was a prehistoric site in Fuxian Lake, Xinhua.net reported.
The scientific investigation began on Sept 26 and finished on Oct 15. “The investigation group was made up of professional scientists specializing in different subjects. The investigation and research is based on formal research organized by CCTV in 2001 and 2006,” said Zhao Tingguang, director of the Yunnan Chinese Cultural Study Association.
According to Huang Yilu, guest professor from the Yunnan Chinese Cultural Study Association, the scientific investigation has drawn five conclusions. First, the prehistoric site is 191 meters from the east coast of Fuxian Lake. Second, no documentary records about the newly-found prehistoric site have been found. Third, according to a hypothesis, the social culture at that time respected the sun and moon and had primitive thoughts. Fourth, more evidence of Yi Ching and images of trigrams composed by numbers and graphics have been found. Fifth, scientists classified and numbered the stone artifacts. Also, a GPS system has been set up to track the artifacts.
According to scientists from the investigation group, the architecture group in Fuxian Lake measures about 2,400 square kilometers with 30 stone architectures. Currently, the academics have studied two architectures there, leaving 28 to be studied.
Fuxian Lake measures about 200 square kilometers in Yunnan province. It’s the deepest plateau freshwater lake in China with a depth of more than 150 meters.
