Symposium held in Yunnan on cultural think tank construction

On July 22, a leading group of cultural industries in Yunnan province organized a symposium on the construction of a cultural think tank. More than 30 specialists attended the symposium and discussed issues of cultural development in Yunnan.

Attendees said that theoretical research has played an important role; and in the newer stages of deepening the reform of the cultural system and promoting the development of the cultural industry, there is now a convergence of culture and other industries.

"The formation of a cultural think tank to ensure scientific and democratic decision making in the development of the cultural industry has become more and more important," said an attendee at the symposium.

Specialists also gave their own recommendations on the issues of convergence of culture and tourism, the markets of traditional folk arts and crafts and the Stepping-out Strategy of Yunnan's cultural industry.

"A culture industry expert committee will be set up and more symposiums will be organized to support the development of the cultural industry in Yunnan," said an official from the leading group office of Yunnan's cultural industries development.
