Yunnan has 600 billionaires

Hurun Research Institute together with GroupM Knowledge Center published Hurun Wealth Report 2013 yesterday(August 14). The report reveals that 600 billionaires live in Yunnan, 210 of which live in Kunming.

Different from nationwide growth rate, the rate of Yunnan rich people’s growth increases very quickly. It has been ranked in the second place across the country.

Yunnan owns 6,500 multimillionaires, and 2,100 of them live in the capital city Kunming. The number of Yunnan billionaires has surpassed that of Guangxi, Guizhou, Xinjiang, Ningxia, Gansu, Tibet , ranking the 22nd in the whole country.

Similar to other China’s provinces, the rich in the province are mainly entrepreneurs, professional stockholders, and real estate speculators. But the so-called "gold collars" are seldom found in sphere of Yunnan rich people.

Yunnan multimillionaires work in fields of mineral products, energy sources, real estate, medicine and biological resources development.

The report also shows that the growth rate of rich people’s number in China last year are at the lowest point compared with that in the past 5 years.
