Kunming sees the heaviest rainfall this year from 20 o’clock last night to 8 this morning(July 19). The precipitation in parts of Kunming hits 190.7 mm, according to Yunnan Provincial Meteorological Observatory.
Large-area rainfall is weeping Kunming from last night to this morning, said by Pu Guiming(普贵明), a chief forecaster in the observatory. The northern urban area is hardest hit by the rain in the city. The Jindian Reservoir has recorded the maximum precipitation of 190.7 mm. The precipitation in western areas is fewer.
"It may rain in the coming two days in Kunming. It is predicted to see heavy rain in parts of the city," said Pu. "July and August are rainy months in most areas in the province. People should pay more attention to waterlogging in the cities.
