The Inaugural Spring City Cup, the first football invitational tournament in Kunming, was held in the city recently.

Altogether 6 football teams from Kunming, Chongqing, Xiamen, Chengdu and Guangzhou competed in the invitational tournament. Four were male teams and 2 were female teams.

The male team of Guangzhou and the female team of Chengdu were crowned the champion respectively.

Champions were awarded with huge Yunnan-featured hookahs. It is said that taking hookahs as the award was to highlight the characteristic ethnic culture of Yunnan, since most of the non-locals have no idea of hookahs.

The invitational tournament was sponsored by Feihu Football Club, the only football team in Kunming. The team consisted of more than 30 foreign football amateurs and only 4 of them are Chinese.

Bao Yulong is the captain of the team. He comes from America, and is 23 years old now.

According to Bao, the team merely had 5 team members when it was first founded in 2011, but it has 30 now. The team receives tactical training every week, and have participated in many matches around the country.

Bao said, "we plan to hold this kind of football invitational tournament annually. We hope all the football amateurs in the country can share the happiness of playing football at Kunming in the future."

Bao also introduced that football contains many elements, including physical strength, technique, confrontation and cooperation. A person may understand the pleasure of playing football as long as he or she experiences it for once.

Football, also called rugby in Britain, is popular around the world, especially among Britain， America, Australia, and Japan. The sport was originated in Rugby, a British city, in 1823.

A football match is divided into four quarters and each quarter lasts for 15 minutes. The match is held in a 100-meter-long and 70-meter-wide in usual. To take pert in a football match, a football team has to be equipped with 11 team members with 4 full-backs and 7 forwards in minimum.
