The export price of matsutakes in Yunnan stayed around 35 US dollars per kilogram in July, which was about 10 US dollars drop compared to the same period last year, sources from Yunnan Chamber of International Commerce.
Each year when July comes, villagers from Shangri-La prefecture of Yunnan province will begin to sell matsutakes out of China.
Tang Xijin, a director of the chamber said that Yunnan exports 5 to 6 tons matsutakes per day, for the quantity demanded by Japanese market shrank.
11 Yunnan local companies have gained the export right from the provincial government. To maintain the Japanese market, some of the companies would rather sell out matstukes at a loss.
Tang predicted that the matsutakes' export price may rise about 50 US dollars per kilogram along with changes of market demands in following weeks.
