Under the combined effects of residual typhoon Utor and southwest monsoon, several Yunnan regions encounter with continuous heavy rainfall recently.
Affected by typhoon Utor, Honghe is expected to experience a round of continuous precipitation process from August 16 to August 20. A lightning yellow alert was released on August 16.
Many regions in Honghe were flooded as the precipitation amount reached over 50 mm on August 16.
A debris flow outbroke on a secondary road that connecting Gejiu City and Yuanyang County, at the noon of August 16. The debris flow washed 2 cars and 4 people away. One people survived and a man’s corpse was found.Other two people are still missing.
Consecutive precipitation also caused a landslide on Dulongjiang Road, in Gongshan Dulong & Nu Autonomous County, on August 16. Over 10 tourists were trapped in Dulongjiang area due to traffic interruption. No casualties were reported.
The destroyed road would not be resumed within a week. Tourists had better not enter the Dulongjiang area in the latest week.
