A museum in memory of soldiers who participated in the battle of resistance against Japanese aggression in western Yunnan (1942-1945) and lost their lives, was opened on Thursday in Tengchong County, Yunnan Province.
The memorial hall, covering an area of 9,492 square meters, is divided into three stories. The first and second stories are used as the main exhibition halls, including exhibition rooms, centers for tour guide service, rest areas for visitors, and video rooms. The whole building is designed in a shape of "V", which means victory.
Located at the west side, there is a 133-meter-long wall that records 103,141 names of soldiers in the China Expeditionary Army, allied forces and other people who participated in the battle.
Currently, there are more than 12,000 collections and 1500 photos in the museum. The construction of the museum started in 2011, with an investment of 150 million yuan
