Tianbao Port connecting Wenshan prefecture in China’s southwest Yunnan province and Vietnam will be upgraded into an international road passenger and cargo transportation port, reporters learned from the checkpoint of the port on December 2.
Tianbao Port is an important Chinese land access to Southeast Asia and South Asia. It borders with the Shimizu port in Ha Giang City, Ha Giang Province. The road that passes through the Tianbao Port in China is linked with the Second National Road in Vietnam, and is the most direct road with the shortest mileage from Yunnan to the capital of Vietnam.
Since the port was set up in 1993 in China, the Tianbao Port bridges the bilateral economic exchanges and technological cooperation, with the Shimizu Port. The vehicles have interchanged in both countries via the two port since 1998, boosting the border trades and tourism. By the end of last year, the new buildings for inspection and goods examination were put into service.
