Charity journey to Chuxiong's remote schools

The poverty-stricken students in Yunnan's Shuangbai and Yongren Counties are donated with supplies in a charity activity recently.

According to Zhou Zhixing(周智兴), an initiator of the activity, the donation was began on November 11. By November 22, around twenty thousand clothings, and numerous stationeries and toys that were packed in about 300 woven bags were donated.

The charity journey lasted for 2 days. For the detachment heading over Shuangbai County, they have visited the Anlongbao Middle School and the Qingxiangshu Primary School on November 23 and 24 respectively.

The two schools are located in the Anlongbao Town, which is in the very remote area of Shuangbai County, Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture. Limited by its isolated geographic position and inconvenient traffic, the town is poor developed both in economy and education.

Having 314 students at present, Anlongbao Middle School is the only middle school in Anlongbao Town. The school is a demonstration base of work-study program around the province. To furnish food for the middle school itself and five nearby primary schools, students and teachers of the school grow vegetables and rise pigs in their spare time in the school.

Among the five primary schools in Anlongbao Town, Qingxiangshu Primary School is the most remote one. The school has only 38 students and 4 teachers at present. Due to few student resources, the school recruits students every 2 or 3 years, and merely establishes 3 grades, namely the pre-school class, grade three and grade five.
