About 15 kilometers away from urban Kunming is located a superb yet unbeknown tourist destination Shuanglong Town. The town is crowned as the “back garden” of the city for its natural beauty and vast forest. The town covers an area of 88.9 square kilometers, with a forest coverage rate of 71.6%. Shuanglong Town is also a paradise for those who are high on cycling and delicacy.

This May 2, China's first extreme sports club, ACC Extreme Sports Club, was established there.

Reporters from InKunming visited Shuanglong Town on July 14 to unveil the newly-founded ACC club and extreme sports base there.

The base was built by ACC club in Shuanglong Town on May 2, which is committed to building an international communication platform, as well as to providing a professional training base for extreme sports amateurs in China. 6 training items have been launched by ACC club in the base. These items will all be taught by professional racers.

The club has rapidly developed and expanded, with a lot of professional and non-professional racers from China, America, New Zealand, Italy, etc. joining in. Among the racers, the youngest one may be 4 or 5 years old, yet the oldest one might be as old as 60 years old.

Frog Prince (nickname) is a member of ACC club, and also is a world famous racer. He introduced that extreme sports include items such as motorcycle racing, inline skating, skateboarding, rock climbing, parkour, etc., which all combine skills of high difficulty with challenges together.

Frog Prince said that Shuanglong Town is an unexceptionable place for doing extreme sports. The soil here is water-absorbing and does not have detritus. The town also has good vegetation condition and high air quality with rich negative oxygen ions in it. “Shuanglong Town is still in the first phrase of development, just like a baby. We have to protect the town before exploiting it,” said Frog Prince, “I love villages like Dongda Village of Shuanglong County. People are kind and warm. Staying here makes me feel happy.”

He believed that Shuanglong Town will surely usher in great development in the future.

George, another racer of ACC club who has been in China for 5 years, is a big fan of bicycle motocross. He has traveled a lot of cities, but finally chose to settle down in Kunming to chase for his dream on extreme sports.

Mikey, another racer of ACC club said that he fell in love with Shuanglong Town as soon as he arrived at the town about one and half a month ago. According to Mikey, he came to Shuanglong County for realizing his dream about popularizing extreme sports.

In order to publicize extreme sports, a series of activities will be organized by ACC club from July 19 to 20 in Shuanglong County.

On July 19, a cultural exchange fair between car fans will be held in the base. Cars of many famous brands, including Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, etc., will be exhibited there.

On July 20, a visual feast will be presented. ACC club is to hold a race competition in the base. Over 160 amateurs are estimated to be invited to take part in the competition. No entry fee will be charged.

Intended persons can go to Dongda Village of Shuanglong Town to enjoy delicious foods in the locality and admire performances presented by racers, enjoying passion of extreme sports this summer.
