Till September, the rainy season of Kunming has nearly come to its end. Seven reservoirs and one water station have stored 202,560,000 cubic meters of water in the city, released by Kunming Municipal Office of Flood Control and Drought.
Take Yunlong reservoir and Songhuaba reservoir as examples, volume of each reservoir at present has increased at least 3 times much of that 3 months ago, respectively reaching 75,990,000 and 58,883,000 cubic meters.
However, in the following months, Kunming's heavy rainfall rate will decrease according to a regular pattern of weather variation.
It is known that Kunming has suffered droughts for continuous 4 years. If Kunming consumes water of 800,000 cubic meters per day, the total water storage, 202,560,000 cubic meters, can be sufficient for the city in March next year.
Citizens and enterprises in the city are required to keep saving water since the water storage in those reservoirs are not that optimistic.
