The comprehensive tourism investment competitiveness of Kunming ranks the fourth best in China after Hangzhou, Beijing and Chengdu, according to The City Tourism Investment Competitiveness 2013 in China released by tourism research and planning center of Beijing University on January 12.
Kunming is also ranked on the sixth and fifth places on the competitivenesses of sightseeing and leisure tourism respectively.
The cities are evaluated by over 60 indexes, including natural resources, culture resources, traffic geography, market, infrastructure, economy and tourism policies.
The tourism investment competitiveness among cities represents comprehensive abilities among cities or regions on tourism. It works as basic elements for capital allocation and revenue improvement on tourism in China.
Cities with top comprehensive investment competitiveness are Hangzhou, Beijing, Chengdu, Kunming, Shanghai, Suzhou, Qingdao, Guangzhou, Ningbo and Chongqing
